Premiere: New Single from New Brunswick's Newfoundman. Album Out 9/29.

Newfoundman by Georgie Morley

"A Ghost at Home"

Newfoundman is the solo project of New Brunswick-based musician, Avery Elford. Elford is getting ready to release his second LP under the name; and, today, we have the album's title track for you. "A Ghost at Home" is dreamy guitar- / synth-based pop that takes several cues from The Cure and many of the modern bands they've influenced.

Elford says, "'A Ghost At Home'  follows a feeling of being out of place in the world around you. It's about searching for a sense of belonging and stability in an unstable world, and wondering if such a thing even exists, or is just a figment of your imagination."

Comparing the new record to last year's Flying Point, Elford continues, "Sonically, the album is also a departure from an acoustic pop sound into the realm of electric guitar and synth-driven indie rock."

It's the combination of retro and modern dream pop that drew me to this one, and I'll be interested to hear the rest of the record. Listen to "A Ghost at Home" right here and go grab it over at Newfoundman's Bandcamp page. A Ghost at Home comes out 9/29.
