What's Going On: 9/14, 9/15, 9/16 & 9/17, 2017

Bond St. Block Party

Getting back into the full swing of things this weekend. Gotta keep on keeping on. Can't wait to see some of your laughing, singing, screaming, sweaty faces at a show or two.

On Thursday night, High Waisted and The Coax celebrate their joint Little Dickman Records 7" release with a show at BerlinNYC that also features Max Pain & The Groovies, and Astral Bodies. Deaf Rhino play their last show of 2017 when they support Kevin Devine along with Linelions at Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck. Dada are at Wonder Bar with The Trews and Grant Stinnett.

Austin's Annabelle Chairlegs make a stop at AP Brewery on Friday with The Coax (on release day) and Psychiatric Metaphors. Chris Brown and his dad Charlie cover your post-work needs at Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten. Ragged Lines celebrate the release of their latest at Asbury Park Music Foundation with help from The Vaughns, Maine's Weakened Friends, and Well Wisher. Fun While You Wait and We're Ghosts Now have their own joint release party at Asbury Park Yacht Club with Brother Valiant. The Brighton Bar in Long Branch hosts a hurricane relief benefit show. Remember Jones is doing Now! That's What I Call Music live at House of Independents. The fantastic Protomartyr are at Monty Hall with The Gotobeds. Our buds in The Anderson Council play a set at Yankee Stadium which is up in The Bronx (duh).

On Saturday, Modern Crowds, Avery and The Man Devils, Girl, and Zach Moyle are at AP Brewery. Pamela Flores, Fiona Silver, and MACK play Asbury Park Yacht Club. Our super-best buds in Lowlight play Old Franklin Schoolhouse in Metuchen with Noordzo and Joe Galuppo. Exmaid and Stuyvesant head to Philly to play Ortlieb's with The Bigness. The Stone Pony hosts a benefit for Kyle Brendle featuring a ton of bands.

Saturday also brings the return of the Bond St. Block Party. It's free and happens right on the street out in front of Bond St. Bar starting at 1pm. It's a showcase of local talent which features The Battery Electric, GayGuy / StraightGuy, Plato Zorba, Shady Street Show Band, Latewaves, and more. Things go late into the night with an afterparty in the basement featuring Yawn Mower and Crazy & The Brains.

Sunday brings the return of the AP Punk Rock Flea Market to convention hall. Little Dickman presents the official afterparty with Kino Kimino and Francie Moon at AP Brewery. Annabelle Chairlegs are up in Jersey City at Petshop with Smock and Spicy Girl.

Like I said, I hope to see some of you out there this weekend. And, please remember. Don't drink or otherwise alter your mind and get behind the wheel of a car.
