"Wanna Dance"
Asbury Park's The Mercury Brothers are one of those bands that show up in the weekly listings here just about every, single week. Usually, it's for multiple shows. The hard-working Asbury Park quartet of Dan Apy (vocals / guitar), Mike Mazza (lead guitar), Ryan Lascelles (bass), and Luke McKenna (drums) released their debut EP, In Retrograde, last August. They followed that up with single "Wanna Dance" at the end of last month.
"Wanna Dance" has a pretty simple message, clearly expressed by its title. It's a bouncing and -- well -- danceable track featuring some fuzzed out guitars along with some rapid-fire drums that all spiral into several tempo changes.
