Summer Kickoff
The unofficial start of summer is here, so that means lots of shows and minimal parking in The New Asbury Park.
Things kick off on Thursday night with SUSTO at House of Independents in Asbury Park. Big Bliss are at Pet Shop JC with Huffers and Hermano Stereo. Trans-Pecos in Queens has Grim Streaker, Kissing Is A Crime, Five Pound Snap, and Pondering. Shiny Penny with SØF and Joey Henderson are at The Saint. Brooklyn Bazaar hosts a benefit for #HappyPeriod featuring A Deer A Horse, Parlor Walls, and ESSi.
On Friday, Invalids, Milkmen, American Lions, and Have A Good Season play the brewery. It's a great one at APYC with Seaside Caves, Lyons, and DJ Sara M. Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck has Helmet and Prong. Lemats, Thee Idea Men, and Where's Tino play The Saint. RedHouse/BlueHouse, The Afraid Brigade, Nefertiti Gold, and Lazyeyes are at Scarlet Pub. Mint400 Records are back at Stosh's in Fair Lawn with aBird, Jett Brando, Yawn Mower, Reese Van Riper, The Foxfires, and Brian Erickson. Kiefer Sutherland is at The Stone Pony.
Asbury Park Brewery hosts Rotten, Execütors, Hot Blood, and Coward on Saturday. The Bonnets, Doc Rotten, Blackwolf Beach, 96 Ghosts, and Over Everything are at Court Tavern in New Brunswick. Waiting On Mongo play Langosta. Igor & Red Elvises are at Wonder Bar with The Brigantines and Plato Zorba. I'll be out of town with the coolfamily, but our extended family of Dentist and The RockNRoll Hi-Fives will be bringing the rock to Asbury Park Yacht Club.
The Vaughns and Renee Maskin are at APYC on Sunday. The Ribeye Brothers play two sets at Dublin House in Red Bank. Remember Jones covers 808s & Heartbreak at House of Independents. New Found Glory are on the Summer Stage with Bayside, The Movielife, Crime In Stereo, and Well Wisher with a bunch of bands also playing inside. John Eddie returns to Wonder Bar.
On Memorial Day, Millhill Basement in Trenton has Comrades, SICK SHIT, Hashgrinder, and School Drugs. Shoobies, The Double Negatives, and Sonic Blume are at The Saint.
