Back To School
The cooldaughters headed off for their first day of school this morning; and, just like that, summer's gone. Though, it's still like a billion degrees.
Anyway...
Ex Hex are in the area this weekend. So are Hot Snakes. Roger Harvey and friends play Asbury Park Brewery tonight. The Asbury Oyster Fest starts on Friday. Sloan are at White Eagle Hall on Friday. David Byrne brings his American Utopia world tour to OceanFirst Arena in West LB on Friday. If you missed the Basie performance, here's another chance. The Bond St. Block Party returns on Saturday. There's a great show at Monty Hall on Saturday night featuring Lost Balloons, Pale Angels, and Character Actor. And there's a whole bunch of other cool stuff, and I'm sure you'll find something.
This site has always been my personal blog as much as it's been a music website, so I need to mention that today marks one year since we lost my brother, Jason. He was a wonderful person who loved his family, worked hard, and always -- always -- made you laugh. Losing him has had an, understandably, huge effect on me and on the site. I've been doing my best to keep things together and rolling; but, sometimes, that's easier said than done. Thanks for sticking by me.
And please, please never drive under the influence of anything.
