The Battery Electric Release New EP. Free Song Download. Playing House of Independents TONIGHT, 5/5.

The Battery Electric released a new EP and return to House of Independents tonight.

Lose Control

The Battery Electric lose control. That sounds about right. No surprises there. Rolls off the tongue nicely. As much as that statement could be made about the band just about any time you see them, it's also the title of their latest EP. In a bit of a surprise move, the boys in denim digitally released Lose Control late last night.

We shared half the songs on the EP with you here: heartfelt rocker "Holiday In Heaven," the poppy and addictive "Modern Girls," and set-staple / crowd pleaser "Lose Control." The set kicks off -- appropriately -- with the chugging "Are You Ready," which contains a typically wild solo from Brent Bergholm. "Bullets to Bedsty" features the 1950s bounce of early punk, but The Battery Electric rough things up with some jagged rhythms from Alex Rosen (bass) and Kevin Troeller (drums) along with Bergholm's guitar. "Katie" mixes vocalist Ron Santee's love of soul with elements of rock and pop punk as it explores the different paths taken by two people.

The Battery Electric recorded Lose Control with Paul Ritchie, and everything -- especially the guitars -- sounds great.

You can stream Lose Control right now from your favorite streaming service and you can purchase it on iTunes.

If you like free stuff, you can download a special 7th track, the band's cover of "I Feel Good," over at The Battery Electric's Bandcamp page.

And hell, why not? Here's some YouTube audio for "Are You Ready."

Catch the boys tonight when they play as part of GayGuy / StraightGuy's record release show at House of Independents.
